The quote, which is attributed to Seneca, tells us about the un-ending possibilities offered by life. It says that every ending will lead to a new beginning. A new beginning can usher in as frequently as the spring season, which embraces us every year, or it can be as rare as the phoenix rising out of its ashes. Irrespective of the frequency of the occurrence, the most important aspect is to embrace this new beginning and make something out of it.

You may have a fresh start any moment you choose, for this thing that we call ‘failure’ is not the falling down, but the staying down. - Mary Pickford

Heard of Steve Jobs? He is a perfect example of the above quote. If we take a look at his life, we can see that he started with co-founding Apple in a garage, at the back of his house. Although Apple was going good, in 1985, a certain event occurred wherein he was forced out of Apple. At this hour, if Jobs would have stayed down, if Jobs would have treated this as a permanent obstacle instead of a temporary roadblock, we wouldn’t have seen his renaissance. However, we were lucky enough that Jobs seized this moment and moved on to new pastures. It spurred him to begin not one but two new ventures in the form of Next and Pixar. Later, he even made a come back to be at the helm of Apple. It just goes onto tell us that our response is more critical than the circumstance itself in deciding the outcome.

Nothing in the universe can stop you from letting go and starting over. — Guy Finley

Heard of Colonel Harland David Sanders? He personifies the above quote. Colonel Sanders had worked through a lot of regular jobs even till the age of 62. He wasn’t fortunate enough to taste any major success until then. In the general sense, 62 is the age of retirement where people wouldn’t want to try anything new and instead just spend their time peacefully. If the colonel would have had similar thoughts, the world wouldn’t have seen the famous food joint Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC). His beginning came at the age of 62! Irrespective of his age, he started on this journey of making his secret recipe into a big-time hit. Colonel Sanders had the acumen to make the most of this new beginning, although it came at the fag end of his career.
